What is SmartFoam?

We developed a high-quality foam that makes the super-efficient packaging process possible. We decided to call it SmartFoam due to its breakthrough properties.

What makes it convenient?

SmartFoam technology makes Rove Lab furniture the planet’s most convenient to receive and assemble. No appointments required. It takes one person just minutes to assemble (or disassemble).

What is OEKO TEX Performance Weave?

Our products are upholstered in spill proof Performance Weave that is OEKO-TEX certified. This means liquid beads off the fabric.

OEKO-TEX label is certified as having passed safety tests for the presence of harmful substances.

How long does it take to grow?

We recommend light use for the first 24 hours to allow your sofa to expand and restore its shape evenly. During the first few days, you may notice that the foam appears misshaped or that the fabric has wrinkles—this is completely normal and part of the expansion process. Over the course of a week, the foam will continue to firm up and expand, and the fabric will settle into place. By the end of this period, your sofa will be fully expanded and ready for regular use.

Our breakthrough foam technology works best with time, and your sofa will continue to adapt to your body and environment, becoming even more comfortable as it completes the expansion.

To help with the process, there are a few things you can do:

  • Follow our [video guide here] for tips on how to unwrap and position your sofa for optimal expansion.
  • If desired, you can gently use a steamer on medium heat to help release wrinkles in the fabric more quickly.

Please note that expansion is a gradual process, and it may take at least one full week for your sofa to fully expand. If you still have concerns after this time, feel free to reach out to us at hello@rovelab.uk with a description of the issues and any photos or images of the sofa, and our team will assist you further.

How can all foam be high quality?

The SmartFoam material is actually more expensive to produce than traditional furniture, not less. You will be surprised by how firm yet supportive SmartFoam can be. The savings come from hyper-efficient storage and transportation, not the materials. Our innovation in packaging is how we have the lowest carbon footprint per piece of furniture.

How do I clean my Rove Lab furniture?

First, we’d like to emphasize that the covers are not removable. That said, to clean your Rove Lab furniture, we recommend following these simple steps:

  1. Blot Spills Immediately: Our fabric is made from 100% polyester and has a spill-proof finish, making it easy to blot away spills. Use an absorbent paper towel to soak up any liquid right away. The fabric is designed to resist damage, so don’t worry about the spill causing harm.
  2. Treat Stubborn Stains: For any stains that don't lift with blotting, dampen a cloth with warm water. Gently dab the affected area—avoid rubbing, as this can damage the fabric. The stain should lift easily without the need for harsh chemicals.
  3. Avoid Removing Covers: We do not recommend removing the covers, as the fabric is specially treated to be low-maintenance. The spill-proof finish helps reduce the need for washing, making your couch easy to maintain with minimal effort.

By following these steps, you can enjoy a clean, well-maintained furniture with little hassle.

Delivery & Returns

Is shipping free?

Yes, we are passing all the logistics savings from our innovation to you.

Can I return my Order?

Yes, you can return your order within 100 days of receiving it. The item must be in its original condition, and a £99 return shipping fee will be deducted from your refund. To start a return, email us at hello@rovelab.uk with your order number and reason for return.

Do I need to be home for my delivery?

You do not need to be home for delivery*.  Orders ship via the UPS "delivery confirmed" service, and you'll receive a text or email notification upon delivery.  *If your order exceeds £2,000 GBP your item(s) will be sent with a signature required delivery service to prevent package loss/theft. 

UPS may leave the package at your door, porch, or another safe location if you're not home. They decide the safest spot based on the delivery address.  In some cases, if the driver doesn't believe it's safe, they may not leave the package and instead make another delivery attempt.  Please ensure you open and inspect your products within one week of delivery.

Can I schedule my delivery?

With UPS, the best part is no appointments are necessary - the estimated delivery date will be shown on the tracking page.  UPS typically delivers parcels on weekdays (Monday to Friday) between 9:00 AM and 7:00 PM.

If you’d like more control, you can sign up for UPS My Choice.  This is a free service which lets you view your parcel’s progress, see a delivery window, and reschedule or reroute to a neighbour, safe place, or UPS access Point while it’s in transit.

Can I delay my shipment or delivery date?

Due to high demand and limited stock, we’re unable to store products in our warehouse or hold orders for a later shipment date. We ship all orders as soon as stock becomes available to ensure you receive your item as quickly as possible.

While we’re generally unable to delay shipping, you’re welcome to contact our team to discuss any potential options that may work for your situation.

If you’re moving or renovating, please note that products must be fully opened and inspected within one week of delivery.

CAN I CHANGE MY SHIPPING ADDRESS?

If your order hasn’t been shipped yet, we can update the address. Just email us at hello@rovelab.uk. Please note: all changes go through a quick fraud check, which usually takes up to 24 business hours.

If your order is already being processed or is on its way, we can’t change the address. If you notice a mistake, contact us right away—we’ll try to submit a return-to-sender request with UPS, but we can’t guarantee it.

How long does it take for me to receive my order?

For all in-stock orders, your items will typically arrive within 2–4 business days — thanks to our innovative vacuum-packed design, that’s much faster than most home furniture deliveries. Orders ship quickly and reliably with UPS.

For pre-order items, you’ll see an estimated shipping window on the product page and in your order confirmation, showing when stock is expected to reach our warehouse. Once it arrives, your order will be on its way, with delivery in just 2–4 business days.

How Can I Track My Order?

Simply use the tracking link provided 1–2 days after you receive your order confirmation.

Can I make changes to my order?

Changes may be possible if your order hasn’t started processing at the warehouse or is in transit.  If you have been issued a UPS tracking number your order is already processing or in transit.  You can instead return unwanted items (subject to a £99 return fee). Please keep boxes sealed and contact us immediately.  If items are still in transit, we can attempt a “return to sender” request, or you may refuse delivery. The £99 return fee will be deducted from your refund in either case.

If your order has not started processing, changes are possible.  This can include adding/removing items or changing upholstery. Once confirmed, we’ll issue an updated invoice or refund for any surplus.

Can I cancel my order?

To file a warranty claim, please email hello@rovelab.uk with the following:

  • Your order number
  • Clear photos or videos of the issue, along with a brief description
  • A photo of the PI label/tag (located on the underside of your sofa or bed)

Once we receive your information, our team will review your claim and get back to you with resolution options.

Warranty

What is covered by warranty?

Everything. From Performance Weave, our awesome fabric, to our one and only SmartFoam.

For Performance Weave and SmartFoam, it is a 3-year warranty with free replacement. For a SmartFoam warranty beyond 3 years, we will only charge replacement costs equal to 50% of the retail value. This helps cover the cost of shipping and handling so you get a brand new sofa for only the replacement cost.
